On March 18, 2025, Samsung Advanced Institute for Health Sciences & Technology(SAIHST) signed a Memorandum of Understanding(MOU) with the Institute of Digital Medicine(IDM) at City University of Hong Kong(CityUHK) to promote global collaboration in health and digital health. The agreement aims to foster talent development, joint research, solution development, and commercialization in the fields of healthcare and digital health.
The signing ceremony was attended by Dean Yoon-Sil Jang of SAIHST, along with department chairs from four academic programs and faculty members. Representing CityUHK were Michael Yang, Senior Vice-President (Innovation and Enterprise) and Director of IDM; Yu Xinge, Associate Director of IDM; and He Mingliang, Professor in the Department of Biomedical Sciences. Following the signing, both institutions held in-depth discussions on potential collaboration in life and health technology fields, including cell and gene therapy, bioinformatics, and biomedical engineering.
Professor Michael Yang remarked, “Global collaboration is essential for advancing digital medicine. Through this agreement, we are confident that the partnership between our institutions will create a positive impact not only in Hong Kong and Korea but also worldwide.” Dean Yoon-Sil Jang responded, “This MOU provides an opportunity for our institutions to share outstanding research achievements and strengthen close collaboration between IDM and SAIHST. We believe this partnership will contribute to addressing healthcare challenges and advancing global medicine. We look forward to continued collaboration and meaningful contributions to the future of healthcare.”
